Ongoing: Stand Up Puppetry

One-time shows about political events and personal adventures

Moti Breacher’s solo Stand-Up performances are based on his personal life events and sometimes combine puppet sketches and songs. The shows often deal with the ways in which personal experiences correspond with the political and social reality. These solo performances correspond with different genres of Stand-Up and Spoken Word. The performances, which sometimes combine songs, puppets or object theater scenes, are inspired by political events and examine the impact of these on the daily life of the individual in society, as well as the difficulties one encounters in coping with day to day urban life. The shows serve as a kind of social and personal stage travel diary, and as a tribal bonfire, where people can process collective experiences in "real time.” Due to the shows’ dynamic nature and its relation to urban processes, it was held in various locations and spaces throughout the city - from theater venues to cafes. Among the shows presented in this framework: "Success Story" which was presented during operation Pillar of Diffense in Gaza, "Unruly and Teacher" which described the experiences of an art teacher looking for meaning in the Israeli education system, “Beton Brut” which brutally describes a romantic quest in the White City of Tel Aviv, and more.
