Spirits of War
Staging the impossible – a séance, a therapist puppet, and one creator’s October 7th journey
The film "Spirits of War" was initially created as a live performance which was presented at the Herzliya Museum of Modern Art on October 2024. The film portrays a creative search by an artist wandering through an abandoned flour mill, haunted by past spirits in a kibbutz where time stood still after October 7th, 2023. During the journey, the wandering turns into a sort of séance and a conversation with the history of Israeli art, exploring its place and the very possibility of art in the midst of an unprecedented national and human trauma.
